i've spent all week collecting and translating volkner's lines from platinum and the other games. how come everyone draws his angsting self, and never the volkner who laughs like a maniac and cheers like a fool when he is completely annihilated in battle?!

why do his pokemon even bother? when they win, he's depressed. when they lose, he's all happy smiles. wtf?

Lol, Volkner. I always found it sorta weird that he got happy when he lost, any was depressed when he was winning all the time, but hey. I guess he's just a glutton for punishment. x3

I think the piece with the background was a little stronger. ;) It's cool to see your colored pieces; it looks like you've got some very good ';painterly' habits. By the looks of it, you're not just dodging and burning your base colors-- instead, you're putting actual colors down. WIN! :D

AHAHAHA. YES. I noticed that the first time I battled him. I was thinking "...I think this guy's got it backwards... Aren't you supposed to be happy if you win? Uhh..."
Clearly I was mistaken. Getting completely thrashed is a perfect way to be thrown into complete and total bliss.

I love how you managed to make Electivire look like a terrified kitten and Volkner like an ecstatic sadist. I also liked how you colored this one; it looks totally awesome.
